Intentional Acts of Living
When faced with pain, distress, or other unpleasant experiences we often act in unhelpful ways including: avoiding, excessively distracting ourselves, procrastinating, worrying, or trying to make ourselves feel better through food, alcohol, drugs, sex, and/or other unworkable actions.
This often leads to more feelings of guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, self-judgment, criticisms, and thoughts of being a failure which leads to more of the same unhelpful actions which continues this cycle.
My purpose is to help clients step out of these unhelpful patterns.
My Approach
My aim is to help clients clarify what’s truly important and meaningful to them, learn skills that help handle difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, so it doesn’t get in the way of us doing the things that we find important.
